I stared up at the creepy old house. "Whoa!" I said as I looked at the grayed timbers and the sagging porch and broken windows. "Who-o-o-o-a-a-a-a-a!" I said again. I'd heard of Old Man Dennis' house of course, but never seen it. Yet here I was.

"Yeah." Tommy said, standing beside me. We were both carrying backpacks, and had told our mothers that we were spending the night at a third friend's house. He'd agreed to cover for us if our moms called. Tommy and I were on a mission. Well, on a dare. We'd agreed to stay the night at Old Man Dennis' house.

"Are you scared?" I asked Tommy.

"No." Tommy said, but his voice was low. "Are you?"

I had to answer. "No."

"Then let's go inside." Tommy said and led the way. I followed after him like a scared puppy. Which is what I felt like. Well, not exactly. What I felt like was a kid who was about to go into a haunted house, and it was nearly sundown. "Scared puppy" isn't the right words.

Old Man Dennis was dead of course, and had been for like fifty years. His house had sat empty and unsold, unused and, the story at school went...haunted. Word was it was empty because the old man's estate didn't allow it to be sold, and none of his children wanted to live here. And who would blame them, not wanting to live in a haunted house.

All kinds of stories had circulated around school about the house. Noises and visions and people who went in and never came out.

Tommy and I had made the mistake of scoffing at the thought of a house being haunted. From there, it was a matter of school protocol, a ritual as old at time itself.

"Oh, yeah? How would you know?"

"Cause there's no such thing as ghosts."

"Oh, yeah?"

"Yeah!"

"Well, I bet you wouldn't go in that house."

"Sure I would!"

"No, you wouldn't!"

"Yes, I would!"

"Nu-uh!"

"Uh-huh!"

"Nu-uh!"

"Uh-huh!"

"Okay, then, why don't you and Marvin go stay the night in that old house?"

"Nahhh!"

"Cause you're scared, that's why!"

"Am not!"

"Am, too!"

"Am not!"

"Am, too!"

"Nu-uh!"

"Uh-huh!"

"Nu-uh!"

"Uh-huh!"

"I dare you!"

"Oh, yeah?"

"Yeah!"

"I double-dog dare you!"

"Oh, yeah?'

"Yeah!"

"I triple-dog dare you! Or are you a chicken?"

"I'm not scared."

"Then you'll do it?"

"Yeah!" Tommy put his arm around my shoulders. "Marvin and me, we'll do it!"

"We will?" I said, a bit too loudly.

Everyone laughed.

"Sure, Marvin and we, we're not scared."

"You gotta stay there all night long, or it doesn't count."

"Okay, we will!"

"We will?" I said again.

"Sure." Tommy said. "Come on, Marvin, you don't believe in ghosts, do you?"

"No." I said readily enough.

"Then we'll camp out overnight and show these bunch of sissies that there's no such thing as ghosts."

And his smiled had its usual magic upon me. When Tommy smiled, I kind of melted inside, sort of, and everything ended up in my dick, which got all hard and kind of throbbed, even.

When that happened, I was like a glob of the clay they gave us in art class, in Tommy's hands, he could mold me to do anything he wanted.

"Sure, Tommy." I said, smiling in return, my innards in my hard dick. "Just you and me in that old house, all night long."

"We're going to be outside, watching you." the kids taunting Tommy had warned. "Don't think you can sneak out. You gotta go all the way in and stay in there until morning."

"Okay." I said, my courage building at last. "We'll do it."

And so here we were. A phone call to my Mom and a stop at the house to pack my bedroll and some snacks, a sneak into the garage to borrow Dad's camping lantern, and I went to meet Tommy and the two of us hiked over to Old Man Dennis' house.

Now I was following Tommy inside. The old door was loose on its hinges, it was easy enough to push it aside and then shove it back into place. Then we turned and looked into the house in the gathering gloom that was the approach of darkness.

Empty. The house was empty, just walls and doors to other rooms and a staircase to go upstairs, but that looked too rickety to climb.

"So." I said. "Where shall we camp?"

"Why not right here?" Tommy said. "We're inside the house, aren't we?"

"We aren't going to go looking for the ghosts?"

"Nah." Tommy said, then he smiled. "Let's just stay here and get this over with. I brought a whole box full of Twinkie's."

"And I brought some Dr. Pepper." I said.

And it just doesn't get better than that! Tommy and I gorged ourselves and drank cool Dr. Pepper and giggled inanely.

We stopped when we heard the noise. "Oo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo-ooh!"

"What was that?" I called out.

"It was the wind." Tommy said.

"Oo-oo-oo-oo-oo-ooh!"

"That's not wind!" I exclaimed. "That's...that's human. Or a...GHOST!"

"It's not a ghost!" Tommy said. "Maybe it's the timbers creaking against each other, or..or something."

Next came a rattling of chains. "That's not wind!" I shrieked.

"No, it's not." Tommy said. "It's...ahah!"

"What?"

"Come on!"

I followed Tommy through the house, him following the sounds of the moaning and the chains. We ended up at the back door and out there were...the kids from school!

"You jerks!" I proclaimed when I saw them.

"Better watch out for the ghosts!" they taunted as they took off.

"Those bastards." I muttered as we went back to our bedrolls. It was really dark now, only the faint light from our camp lantern and the street lights had let us see to get to the kitchen.

Still, that did something to me, the guys pretending to be ghosts. I was going to stay in this creepy old house all night no matter what happened!

With a new resolve, Tommy and I settled in for the night. The house really didn't make any noises now that the guys from school had left. I wondered if they were still out there or not.

Tommy and I talked and after a while, the watch Tommy had said it was ten o'clock at night. "Time for bed." Tommy said.

And then came another noise. Skittering sounds. "Sounds like mice." Tommy observed.

"Yeah, or rats." I said, and shivered. "I bet an old house like this has a lot of rats in it."

Then came a rattling sound. This wasn't chains!

"What's that?" I asked.

"Something's loose on the roof outside." Tommy judged.

"We got to listen to that all night?" I shivered.

"Hey, Marvin, don't lose it now." Tommy urged me. "We're in an old, empty house, remember? It's going to make weird noises. It's falling apart, remember?"

"I know." I said miserably.

"Come on, let's get to sleep." Tommy said. "You'll feel better about it in the morning. "We'll be the guys who stayed all night in a haunted house. We'll be heroes."

"Yeah." I said. Then, "I don't feel like a hero, though."

"Me, neither." Tommy admitted. "This place is kind of freaky, isn't it?"

"Yeah." I said. "I don't think I can sleep in this house. Like I can't sleep in a storm."

I wouldn't have admitted that to anyone but Tommy.

"Yeah, I do the same thing." Tommy agreed. "I go get in bed with my Mom."

"My Dad." I said. "He and Mom have separate rooms."

"That's weird."

"Yeah, I know." I said. "Daddy lets me cuddle up next to him and feel all safe and comfortable and warm. I don't care if there's lightning and thunder if I'm with my Daddy."

"Oh." Tommy considered this. "You want to put our sleeping bags together, then?"

"You don't mind?" I asked.

"No." Tommy said. "I think it'll be cool. "We can zip them together, can't we? We can mine."

"Mine, too." I agreed.

"Then let's do it." Tommy said.

I felt better with Tommy next to me. We hadn't undone our clothes (not in a haunted house!), but still, I could and did snuggle up to Tommy and he did me. In the darkness of this deserted, miserable old house, we held each other and we didn't feel like sissies or like weirdos. We just felt...safe.

"I'm glad you're here." I whispered to him as the house continued to make its loud, unfriendly sounds around us. But they were only old-house sounds.

"Me, too, you." Tommy said. I understood. He was glad I was here with him.

I was suddenly aware I was holding him. I'd been clinging to him, but now I was aware of him as a person, as my friend, as my buddy, as the guy I wanted to do anything and everything with.

Everything.

My hand traveled down Tommy's body. He realized about halfway down where my hand was going, because he shifted more onto his back and his own hand went over my chest, over my stomach.

I hit Tommy's blue jeans and I fumbled with the buttons on it to get them open. He had an easier time with my zipper, and caught up with me and passed me. I gasped as his hand fished in my underwear and caught hold of my wiener, and then I renewed my efforts to get to his. I finally had him undone and my hand got hold of him.

"Oh, Marvin!" Tommy groaned as we began to stroke each other. His breath was hot on my face, our foreheads were touching, our lips an inch or so from each other, he breathed out and I breathed in, I breathed out and he breathed in, our breaths were one, our hearts were one, our minds were one.

"Mmm, I like this." Tommy sighed as our hands worked each other. "It's nice."

"Yeah." I breathed myself. "Real nice."

My dick was tingling in the familiar, wonderful way. But it was even better than the way it did when I worked it myself, because this was my buddy, my friend, Tommy, working my cock for me. And we were here in this house, all alone, really alone. No mother or father to catch us, no sibling to enter the room and sneer at us, no reason not to let our pleasure run rampant. This was even better than a camping trip...there weren't any other tents nearby to hear us.

So I began to talk to Tommy. "Oh, Tommy, I love the way you play with my cock." I said. "And I love to work yours, it feels so soft and warm. I love your dick, Tommy, I love your dick, I want to keep it and play with it every night!"

Tommy realized the freedom we had when he heard me say that. "Yeah, Marvin, me, too, you really can work my wiener good. I want you to play with me any chance you get."

"Like, maybe, when we're in Mrs. Greavor's class?" We had a table instead of desks there, and Tommy and I shared a table. "I could reach under and play with you then."

"Yeah, yeah." Tommy groaned as he thought about it. "And I could play with you while Old Lady Greavor talks about fractions and long division." His eyes closed and he groaned as he thought about it. "And when we go to a basketball game, we could sit up in the highest set of bleachers, we could take off our coats and put them on our laps, and we could reach under and work them while they're all around us, cheering and playing the game. And the players and the people on the other side could see us, but they wouldn't know we were playing with each other, no, they wouldn't know. We could do it at every game."

"Oh, yeah, yeah!" I saw us in that crowd, among all our friends, our coats over our laps as if we just wanted to hold them that way, our hands underneath each other's coats, our hands busily pumping like we were doing right now! "Yeah, anytime, anywhere." I said. "Like, when we go swimming in the pool in summer, we could get in the water where we're standing and just our heads are out of the water and we could do it there."

"Oh, yeah, oh, oh, yeah!" Tommy gasped. "Or...or at the grocery store, we could get over in the candy aisle, where they have that little spot with the candy and the chips on three sides, and nobody who's not in that one spot in the aisle can see us. We could do it there, too!

"Oh, yeah, yeah, right there, in the candy aisle, yeah, oh, oh, yeah!" I moaned.

My cock was tingling so hard, I knew I was going to have to stop soon. "I want to do it with you like that, Tommy!" I gasped. "Any time, anywhere, you and me! You and me, Tommy, you and me!" And I was writhing as Tommy's hand stroked me, my brain was like there were fireworks inside, and I was going, "Uh, uh, uh, uh, uh!" right into Tommy's face, he was watching me in my pleasure, eagerly staring as I looked at him with my dazed, glazed eyes, and enjoying my joy, knowing he had done it for me. Somehow, in that, even as I was done, my hand continued to ply itself over Tommy's cock.

"Oh, oh, oh!" Tommy's hand grew erratic on my dick and I knew he was caught in his own pleasure. I grinned and whacked his peter faster than ever, and Tommy moaned and he panted and his hips jumped back and forth. "Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh!" he guttered as his desire consumed him, and then he was done, his chest heaving and his breath was fire on my cheeks.

Panting, Tommy's eyes were closed, and then he opened them again, his blue orbs burned into mine, and he said, "That was great!"

"The best." I agreed. "The very best."

"Man, this is awesome." Tommy said. "We should come here again soon as we can, turn this into a sort of clubhouse."

"Maybe." I said. As if to tell us it was a bad idea, the stairs caught in the wind or something, they began to sway and creak. Just a time or two and then stopped.

"Think that was a ghost?" Tommy asked me.

"Naw." I dismissed that. "No such thing as ghosts. But if we're going to have a clubhouse, we don't want to make it here. This is just an old house."

"The creepiest." Tommy agreed. And yawned.

I yawned, too. "Let's get some sleep." I said. "We can do each other again in the morning. And it's Saturday, after we prove to those jerks this house isn't haunted, we can really go camping the rest of the day. Just you and me."

"Just you and me." Tommy repeated. And he held me in his hands, his bare dick touched mine as we embraced, and like that, the two of us went to sleep in that creepy old house.
